Thelonious Monk - Discography 2

The (mostly) Riverside recordings - from 1955 to 1961. Thelonious Monk's recordings cover a span of about thirty years from the early 1940's to the early 1970's, and while there are excellent albums available from all periods, Orrin Keepnews (who was Monk's producer at Riverside) featured the pianist in a wide variety of settings and it is generally acknowledged that the Riverside albums show the highest level of innovation and represent Monk at his very finest.
Many of these recordings have been re-issued with extra tracks on Milestone LP's, and on CD by Fantasy Records on their "Original Jazz Classics" label.

Thelonious Monk - The Complete Riverside Recordings.
