Note about the 1941 MINTON'S recordings.
There is often some confusion about who plays on these tracks. These amateur recordings were made by a young jazz fan named Jerry Newman, featuring "The Teddy Hill Band" and "Monroe's House Band" and have been released many times. Many albums have been taken from the original recordings and have been released on Onyx, Laserlight, Everest, Counterpoint/Esoteric, and Xanadu as well as ARC/Society and other labels.
