![]() Stan Tracey - Born South London 1926. Professional musician since 1943. Winner of Melody Maker composer award for his suite 'Under Milk Wood', and six consecutive years top pianist. 8 years resident at Ronnie Scott's club with own group and with visiting artists such as Stan Getz, Sonny Rollins, Roland Kirk, Ben Webster, Zoot Sims and Jimmy Witherspoon.
Mike Osborne - Born Hereford 1941. Graduate of Guildhall School of Music (clarinet). Top alto 1972 Melody Maker poll. Member of Mike Westbrook band of '62 to '72. Co-leader of groups with John Surman. Regular member of the Chris McGregor Brotherhood of Breath, and John Warren's big band; has also worked with Mike Gibbs, Humphrey Lyttleton, and Alan Skidmore bands. Since 1970 leader of one of the most dynamic trios in Europe and associate with Stan Tracey on a number of important New Music explorations. A constantly questing original improvisor. | |
